§ 315.160. Establishment of Snow Routes.

  • A. 
    Purpose. The purpose of this Section is to provide for a means to regulate traffic flow within the City of Owensville during such times when a snow emergency exists.
    B. 
    Definitions. For purposes of this Section, the following definitions shall be applicable:
    SNOW EMERGENCY
    Any time that there has been such snow fall which makes travel on the public streets unsafe or difficult. A snow emergency shall be declared by the Mayor after consultation with the Street Superintendent and City Clerk.
    SNOW ROUTE
    The designation by the Board of Aldermen of certain public streets as the primary streets to be used during a period of a snow emergency. Such streets shall receive priority as far as the removal of snow is concerned.
    SNOW ROUTE MAP
    The map of the City which has depicted therein the streets which have been designated as snow routes.
    C. 
    Violations. It shall be unlawful for any person to park a motorized vehicle or trailer on a snow route at such times when a snow emergency has been declared. The owner of any such vehicle or trailer illegally parked shall be subject to the penalty as hereinafter set forth.
    D. 
    Procedure. The Board of Aldermen shall each year cause to be published a snow route map depicting such streets as the Board has designated as snow routes. In the event that no route map is published prior to November thirtieth (30th) of any year, the snow route map most recently adopted shall remain in force.
