§ 130.010. Positive Leadership.

  • Citizens have the right to expect that every elected official will conduct himself or herself in a manner that will tend to preserve public confidence in and respect for the government represented. Each member will look out for the best interest for the City as a whole. The elected official recognizes that it is absolutely essential to remain positive in working together as a team, and to:
    1. 
    Strive to see the good in others.
    2. 
    Look for, recognize, and promote the positive contributions of each member of the Board of Aldermen.
    3. 
    Refrain from speaking negatively about the character of other members of the Board of Aldermen.
    4. 
    Seek ways to turn obstacles into opportunities.
    5. 
    Maintain a sense of optimism and humor in working together.
    6. 
    Strive toward increasingly high levels in professional in dealing with one another.
